Right, I was all gung ho to do blogging and then it just went....puff....I never thought about it, could not even remember WHERE I was blogging, until today when I found the address.
What is it about the internet that makes me lose interest quickly? Maybe it is because in many ways my life is quite humdrum and I can't imagine anyone being interested in reading about me. I find other blogs so much more compelling than my own little corner of the world.
However for the past two weeks I have been reading "An Olive Farm" and "An Olive Season" by Carol Drinkwater. For those of you 'in the know' she played Helen, wife of James Herriot in the Vet series on tv. Well she bought this broken down house in the South of France in the hills of Cannes and it is the story of how she and her husband have made a FANTASTIC place out of it. Now, I thought I might just write AN ORDINARY woman's life in France. Not so 'went to the Canne Film Festival' or 'flew to Austrailia to be in a play'. Of course I do not have a broken down stone house to redo, but I do have some French experiences I could share. By the by she does write great books and seems a genuine down to earth lady. She even answered my email which was fantastic and not something I was expecting.
So here I go again, another try at regular blogging.
First up this winter has been COLD COLD COLD. Not the norm for this area at all and we are all complaining. My neighbours keep telling me 'never been this bad before' and 'many years since we have had this kind of weather' and they are now all poo pooing the idea of global warming, while trying to keep warm, with great coats, boots, scarfs and gloves.
We went to England for Christmas, I was longing for Christmas carols and all the good things that go with an English Christmas. However, we drove from here to England in front of the lovely snow that arrived the same night as we did. And then we were stuck in the house for a week. So no Christmas carol services, no church services, no kiddies doing their thing with the creche, most disappointing. But I did discover THE XBOX. What a hoot, I never thought I would like it, and I don't for playing games, but they have something called 1 vs 100 and it is played on the Interent with the whole of Europe and it like trivial pursuits with thousands playing. My dear son and his partner bought us one for Christmas so that is what I spend some evenings doing now I am back home, in the land of the French. I will continue with this another day as I have to go out now. And I can say I have had my fill of the white stuff, which hearing on the news that snow is expected here TONIGHT!!!!! Heaven preserve us all.

wet weeend
I had meant to post about the dentist's visit, but time ran out on me. However, it was not in the least painful as all he did was to take a form of my teeth. The weekend was planned with 10 friends an a BBQ. So what happened? The heavens opened on Sunday, with wind, and so.....no eating out, but we did BBQ the meat and fish. All went well with the sardines, then came the merguez and chops, half way through the gas ran out!!!!! So I ended up doing the cooking after all, and here was me thinking I was going to have a relaxing Sunday. Ah well, we did have fun anyway. The week so far has been lovely, but still a bit of wind. Had a doctor's visit on Monday and halleluja, my blood tests were good, everything had come down, so I am very happy with the way of eatiing I started two weeks ago. Took some getting used to, but now I am really enjoying it and don't feel at all hungry. And cm's are coming off, which is what I wanted, and of course, my blood work is good. Tomorrow it is a holiday here, so we are going, with friends, to a big camp picnic up at Plan D'Aups, which is where we have the bible camp. I am looking forward to doing some walking and breathing the air of the mountains. Sacha went to his hairdresser on Tuesday and he looks so SMALL now all his hair has gone. He is a poppet. Next week I have another dentist appointment, this time I think to work on getting the plate fixed. Poor Ray has a much harder procedure than me, each time he seems to be in the chair over 2 hours!!!!
Take care and have a good week.

my first entry
Right, this time I am going to try and keep up with this 'blogging' method of staying in touch. I have tried before and fell by the wayside.....here's hoping this time will be the successful time.
At the moment not too much is happening in my corner of the world except the weather is utterly gorgeous. I do so love living in the South of France, especially when I see lemons on my trees. One of my dreams has been to be able to go out into the garden and pick either lemons or oranges. So that dream has come true.
Ray has started a 'potagere' (vegetable patch) and we are now eating our own, honest to goodness, bio salads, spinach and soon to come lots more. Yummee...
The perlagoniums that we brought with us from England (one year ago) that I thought had died have suddening blossomed and are looking beautiful, thank you Lord. However my bouganvilliea (sp?) looks very very sad, I say it is dead, my hubby, ever the optimist says it is alive. We will see.
Sacha, the dog, has settled very well and is loving life in the sun. His favourite pastime is lying on the grass in the sun, until it gets too hot, then he goes in the shade, until he is cool, then off out into the sun again!! Did I say he is a lazy little dog????
Off to the dentist this afternoon so will post what horrible things he will do to me...no pain PLEASE....
Also I have started a new way of eating, which is called Chrono Nutrition and I am finding it excellent, much more energy, have lost cm's from my body which is what I want, so we will see i this continues.
Until the next tim
